Microsoft Windows is by far the most installed and used operating system globally. Since their entry, Microsoft have tried to improve user’s experience through constant windows version updates. Recently, June 24th, an announcement was made about the rollout of Windows 11. Windows 11 is the successor of Windows 10. But what should you know about Windows 11?
Microsoft has already rolled out the first preview of windows 11 to members of Windows Insider Preview Program. With the initial release date set to be late 2021, the windows 10 upgrade will be free for all users. What features should we however expect from windows 11?
Some improvements that have been made to the windows 11 program
Integrated android apps. These android apps will be installed from Microsoft Store and will come from the Amazon Appstore.
Microsoft teams integration. Teams has been made easily accessible whereby you can access it from the taskbar. Now you can easily join meetings and calls.
New multitasking features. The new features, Snap Groups and Snap Layouts, which is simply the collection of applications that one is using simultaneously that sit in the taskbar and can come up or be minimized at the same time for easier task switching. Snap Layouts feature enables windows 11 to arrange these applications in different layouts. When you save them, they can be easily accessed from the taskbar where you can minimize or maximize them as a group.
Interface changes. The new interface resembles the Mac. It has a centered start menu and taskbar without forgetting rounded corners.
Windows 11 will also involve some key gaming feature improvements and more games. Auto HDR and DirectStorage are some of the features borrowed from Xbox to improve gaming on windows. Auto HDR integration means that a game does not need to have built-in support for HDR to improve its looks because DirectStorage is bringing modern SSD speed to gaming and with full Xbox Games Pass integration a whole world of games will be at your fingertips.
Widgets will now be accessed directly from the taskbar and one can even customize it to see whatever widget they prefer.
